Details of Staff Numbers and Staff Training

The agency employs two senior managers and three care co-ordinators and approximately 40-50 care workers. The agency's staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened and references are always checked thoroughly. During induction all staff are trained by experienced qualified senior staff in the following critical subjects:

• Care Code of Conduct
• Confidentiality
• The rights of Service Users
• Health and Safety
• Food Hygiene and Safety
• Personal Care Tasks
• Care Workers Responsibilities
• Moving/Handling
• Mental Capacity Act 2005

All new staff will complete an induction that follows the TOPSS guidelines. The agency insists that all care workers hold a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Care. All new members of staff must train to achieve this important qualification.

The agency also sends all staff on external training courses for such topics as Food Hygiene, Care of the Elderly, First Aid, Drugs Practice etc.

Sophie works in the office and carries out daily tasks such as answering the phone, typing, photocopying and other office duties. She is the first person people meet when they come in the office she is the first point of contact.
Jo Schofield – Care Co-ordinator

Jo works as a senior carer in the community but also carries out risk assessments in customers’ homes and assists with office activities. Jo also holds the out of hours office phone (07974397390) in case of emergencies.
Sheila Hemmings – Business Manager

Sheila manages the day to day running of the office and care visits. She manages the rotas and a team of staff. Sheila is based in the office every day. She attends meetings and reviews on behalf of the company. Sheila has gained level 5 NVQ qualification in Leadership and Management.

Vicky works as a senior carer in the community but also carries out risk assessments in customers’ homes and assists with office activities.
Michelle Mullen – Care Co-ordinator

Michelle works as a senior care co-ordinator and is our main trainer. Maggie is NVQ 3 qualified, manual handling assessor, equipment assessor, training officer and PETAL’s. Michelle provides all of our induction training which staff members receive before starting with us. She deals with the day to day running of the office and co-ordination of the care calls.
